MULTIPLICITY Spotlight: Suz Graham, the Ace of BASE

MARCH 24, 2015
Skier. BASE jumper. Wingsuit pilot. Speedflyer. Yogi. Lover of life and adventure.

Suz Graham has quite the resume. Growing up in Salt Lake City and now living in Pemberton, Suz has taken the term “adventurous lifestyle” to the next level. You’ve probably seen her in magazines and films – yup, that was her in Unicorn Picnic’s Pretty Faces. When she’s not busy partaking in the aforementioned activities, you might find her rock climbing, mountain biking, surfing, traveling the world, or volunteering her time with the American Red Cross.

It’s safe to say that Suz doesn’t get bored very often.

On April 12, she’ll be taking the stage at the World Ski and Snowboard Festival’s MULTIPLICITY event to share some of her best mountain stories (get your tickets here). Suz’s stories are anything but average – this is one talk that you won’t want to miss. Here’s a look at what you can except.

ML: Can you give us a sneak preview of what we can expect for your MULTIPLICITY presentation?

SG: A story with a cliff-hanger ending. Literally! 😉

ML: What’s the coolest thing you’ve done in the past year?

SG: Outside of the skiing, base jumping, skydiving, etc. (which are all super awesome but more normalized for me…), something extra cool for me has been the opportunities I’ve gotten in public speaking – as strange as that sounds! I’ve had a few chances this year to speak to various audiences and I love it. It’s new and different for me, and scary and challenging in a whole new way.

ML: You’ve said that setting goals is important to you. What are some of your goals for the upcoming year?

SG: Setting goals is huge for me. This year is all about making some important decisions on moving forward with my career as an athlete and thinking outside of the box to have the freedom to achieve what I want on my own terms.

ML: Of all the sports and activities that you do, which one gives you the biggest rush?

SG: That’s a tough question, because I can get a “rush” from anything from a BASE jump I’ve never done before, flying my wingsuit, skiing a big line, or speaking publicly to a large group. I will tell you that once something starts to feel boring, that’s a signal to re-evaluate. Because complacency is extremely dangerous.

ML: What are you most passionate about?

SG: Living. Exploring. Adventuring. Breaking the mold.
